Guest guest
I have a couple of questions for those of you familiar with th horary meridian cycle. I know that it varies depending on the individual and his environment, (that being the reason why the times don't need adjusting when used in places besides China, and the reason why horary point therapy works on jet lag, I suppose) but I was wondering if the times in which each Organ system is most active vary depending on the Season as well? Also, are there any print resources that go over the horary meridian cycle in detail? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Mbanu

My Chinese instructors use the cycle for jet lag. The clock (horary) is based on the sun....don't know how it would be considered the same on both sides of the globe. ....xenophobia, again!!?? ;-) Kit

When it is 10am in that place in China, it will not be 10am in, say New York, in the United States; there would be several hours of time difference. Yet there doesn't seem to be a modified horary cycle for those living in places outside of where it was originally developed. If it's 10am in China, it's a time in which the Spleen is active. If it is 10am in the United States, that is the time the Spleen is active. Also, the jet lag solution involves stimulating the horary points of the cycle during the times in your destination area. This supposedly resyncs one's " internal horary cycle " with the cycle of the sun in the place you are going. If you didn't do this, you would continue to run on the horary cycle of the place you came from, so your time of active Spleen would be 10am where you came from, not 10am where you are. I think that this can also happen in cases besides jet lag, especially with the widespread use of electric light and the rise in shift work and night jobs. I got the info on jet lag from Acupuncture Today (http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/archives2001/oct/10amaro.html) Mbanu
