Guest guest
Tell the healer every symptom. Be prepared for some unusual questions. (At least unusual by Western standards). One of the things that struck me the most about TCM was how certain things that are not considered symptoms by Western medicine are very key clues in TCM. Like my hating the winter and preferring the summer. Do not wear any perfume or colonge to the first meeting. The TCM healer will be sniffing for odors. For example, someone with a burnt smell may be suffering Heart imbalance. (This includes guys not wearing aftershave to the evaluation meeting.) Remove fingernail polish prior to the visit. The TCM healer will be checking to see if there are ridges in the nails (possible Liver and/or Gall Bladder imbalance) as well as some other things. The healer also will be noting any colors under and around the nail. Do not wear make-up. The healer will be checking complexion tones for clues. This includes the lips as well as the skin. While it is possible for the TCM healer to render a correct analysis even when a client is wearing make-up or aftershave, the idea is to aid the healer as much as possible. It also is a good idea not to wear make-up when seeing a Western MD, DO, etc. Even though Western medicine does not observe patients to the same extent as TCM healers, there are certain things that they will need to notice. Like the paleness of anemia, the dark circles under the eyes of allergies, the white spots of zinc deficiency under the fingernails, etc. Victoria
