Hi Warrior, I had a QiGong teacher(chinese and all!) who taught

us that Qi was golden yellow color(like the sunrise). Qi gong

master Mantak Chia also agrees on yellow color for Qi, and

reddish for Jing and purple for Shen.

Really?? that is quite interesting...i was originally taught to

picture blue.....the yellow color came afterwards i kept naturally

being able to concentrate on the yellow, for some reason the green

happens only when i am outside, and of course the red came usually

after a long workout session....i tried picturing other colors but

could not, now that you mention it though the yellow color came most

naturally, but was an after effect of my own

experimentation.....thank you for your reply.....btw, do you have an

explanation for the other colors by any chance???

As for the Yellow color, Dr. Su(he is an acupuncturist also) gave

his classes in the early morning and told us to look at the

yellow sunrise on the horizon and(visualize)as if inhaling it(the

Qi). Could be that the morning light, arising out of the earth,

gives it this quality of Yang Earth that Mbanu mentioned.

Hi. The colors that you " see " when practicing Qi Gong (any kind) or

meditation are really not important. It's a kind of " garbage " of your mind.

Each person will " see " most frequently collor thar correspond with the own

profile. It's not wu wei. Don't pay attention on colors. Keep your mind free

of any information, any image or anything. Let they come and go, and keep

practicing.

Thank you, actually the person who taught me that told me about the

same thing, don't get me wrong, i believe in the esoteric quite

strongly, i am of the mind that the human body is capable of quite

amazing feats when put to the test. I understand the concept of where

visulization comes to play, the specific exercises where meant to be

just that, excercises. In actual practice however i am taught in the

spirit of which you just mentioned, to let things " flow " naturally. I

am of the mind that the visulization is just a procedure to " reteach "

your body to direct the energy naturally as it was meant to be. Just

as you breath without concious thought, so must your ability to

direct and focus your chi/qi. I liken to the though of switching a

light on and off, except for me i would like that lightswitch to

react at the speed of " thought " . Anyhow i think the gist of what you

are saying is " don't get caught in the interpretation " which is

something that i agree upon wholeheartedly.

Hi Roberta, I agree with you that the colors that 'appear' when

practicing should not receive any undue attention. But there are

practices witch use color as an 'entrainment' for our subtle body

as well as sound, and images(from nature or the Bagua, for

instance), apart from that colors are an undesirable side-effect.
