There are many different ways that stealing email addresses can be

accomplished. Not all of them are because of insecurities. Spammers

have even stolen email addresses from linux.org, where people

certainly know what they are doing computerwise

(http://www.rac.ca/spam.htm). Unfortunately, there is only a limited

amount of things that one can do to protect against email address

theft.
