Guest guest
I know it is not very good to drink when you eat, but when can you drink after you eat and before you eat. I love to drink water, and drink a lot all day. I just recently stopped drinking at meals. i just feel so thirsty after I eat. Guest guest
It is OK to drink when you eat just don't drown your food ;-) .... that is, don't dilute your digestive juices too much. If your digestion is good and you feel that you have sufficient stomach acid. A glass of water isn't going to hurt.....just nothing the size of a Big Gulp!! Personally, I like to drink a large glass of water or more 15-30 minutes before I eat. Mostly because it helps to remind myself to drink enough. Kit PS. This has come up in class and one of the Chinese Dr.s recommends to drink til your urine is clear. Beyond that is too much. Guest guest
Gastric juice is not the only factor in digestion. So is physical breaking down and mixing activity. Think of when you are making a dough. You certainly need water. Of course too much of it would make a mess. Same thing here. As long as it's not too much, it HELPS digestion. Rather than trying to cut down on the amount of water you drink, try to chew more to generate the "golden spring water". Saliva is so highly regarded among taoist practitioners, and for a good reason too. It's been found that saliva helps keep "good bacteria" alive thus helping nutritional absorption. A lot of people take supplements. Drinking until the urine is clear may be a little too much these days. In old days, it would have been a great advice for common people. Just my humble opinion...
