Guest guest
Hello, I am a 25 year old female that has recently been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome along with endometriosis, and hypothyroidism. On top of all this last year I had a stroke in my left retina from a blood clot, leaving me partially blind. At the time of the stroke, I was taking birth control pills and prescription decongestants and antihistamines for seasonal allergies. I discontinued using these drugs immediately after the stroke. I have been to every kind of western Dr. there is, it seems like. No one can figure out what happened to cause the stroke. After being off the birth control pills my periods became very irregular and painful, as they were before I got on the pill. I had wondered for some time in my early teens if I had a hormonal imbalance because I had terrible periods and facial hair. That is when I went to the endocrinologist last year and got the PCOS diagnosis. I am also insulin resistant which is a symptom of PCOS. I am going to an acupuncture dr, now for pain management and to balance my hormones. Is there anything in particular I should avoid in herbs and my diet? What should I tell my dr other than what I have said here? I want to get the full benefit of this type of treatment, and I hope I am communicating well with this dr. Is there any type of treatments that would work best for me and my situation. My goal is to have less pain, lose weight, and not have another stroke. Most western doctors think my goal is to get pregnant, but that is not the case. I would someday like to concieve, but my concern is for my health and the health of the child. If it is going to put either life at risk, I would rather not have children. Any suggestions are appreciated.
