They move away blockages, phlegm, stagnancies. If she has a greasy tongue coating they might be OK. If the body is in a TCM 'deficient' constitution like liver-yin- deficiency with maybe a little deficiency fire (missing tongue coating) then this formula would worsen the situation leading to possible sidefx like thirst, heat flushes, dry mouth, constipation, restlessness. The other herbals in that formula are more 'tonics' that could lead to 'stagnancy' sidefx if taken over a long time leading to aggression, anger, stuffiness and pain in the chest. OK, next VERY IMPORTANT thing is, the thing the chinese call 'liver' has nothing to do with what your doctor associates with liver. Her 'damaged liver' might very well be diagnosed as TCM-kidney or TCM- spleen disease. The chinese 'organs' should never be confused with western medicine organs. " She tends towards hot " Pinellia Cinnamon Danggui Ginger will heat up the body even more. If any of above sidefx should appear 'counter' therapy it using their HY-C or NERVOUS FATIGUE FORMULA capsules which are more cooling and thirst squenching. You could get MUCH cheaper classical chinese pills but you chose to go 'the western way' :-) And at the bottom of your shop it says: This product was not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. What is a liver kick-start?

The TCM Liver (Kidney, Spleen, Heart, etc.) is NOT the same as the anatomical liver (kidney, spleen, heart, etc.). The TCM Organ may include many of the functions of the Western-identified organ, but they are not the same. Many writers will capitalize common English words that have special meaning in TCM in order to alert readers that these terms have special meaning in TCM. TCM pays more attention to function than to anatomy. The TCM Organs are collections of functions. For example, " the Liver opens into the eyes " . Problems with the eyes often are a symptom of Liver imbalance. The Kidneys " open into the ears " , and people with Kidney imbalance often will report unusual problems with the ears or hearing. What the Chinese call the " Spleen " include many of the functions of the pancreas. Victoria
