Hi Everyone,

I have a question that I hope you'll be able to help with. I am a Nature's

Sunshine distributor and I really like some of their Chinese formulas. My

cousin recently was on a Prozac-like drug that damaged her liver; something

about her metabolism being damaged and she gained weight and cannot lose it.

She is doing lots of the recommended things, but meanwhile, she is getting

married soon and the anxiety is coming back. She tends toward the hot, so I

got her a formula called Liver Balance that is wood-reducing. It has

Proprietary blend 1940 mg *

Bupleurum Root (Bupleurum chinese)

Peony Root (Paeonia officinalis)

Pinellia Rhizome (Pinellia ternata)

Cinnamon Twig (Cinnamomum cassia)

Dang Gui Root (Angelica polymorpha)

Fushen Plant (Poria cocos)

Scute Root (Scutellaria baicalensis)

Zhishi Fruit (Citrus aurantium)

Atractylodes Rhizome (Atractylodes lancea)

Ginseng Root (Panax ginseng)

Ginger Rhizome (Zingiber officinale)

Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza uralensis)

We are hoping this will kick-start her liver and get her metabolism working

again, and also reduce her anxiety. Any comments?

Thanks,

Debbie

Hi Debbie:

I wonder if you have also considered milk thistle for liver damage. Although

it is a Western herb it seems to have a good track record for correcting

liver damage. There is lots on the web about this herb, and it is even being

used to help hepatitis C.
