Guest guest
There are particular problems that that will point very strongly to a particular Organ being affected. For example, if the person complains of back aches (especially lower back aches and weakness), weak knees, bad teeth, ear and/or hearing problems, libido, and/or urinary problems, suspect and rule in or rule out Kidney imbalance. If the digestion is messed up in any way, suspect Spleen involvement. Also suspect and rule in or out Spleen involvement in cases of generalized Qi and/or Blood Deficiency (because the Spleen plays such an important role in both.) When the Lungs are affected, breathing problems will be especially marked. The person also may have problems with the skin and/or with the nasal passages. Suspect and rule in or out if grief is a predominate emotion and/or the person has problems letting go. If feelings of frustration and anger are strong and happen a lot, suspect Liver imbalance. Some Liver imbalances also can play a role in digestive system problems. There also may be eye and/or vision problems. (The Liver " opens into the eyes " .) Heart imbalance can result in palpitations, insomnia, speech problems, heart problems, and some of the more severe mental illnesses. Actually, the Liver or the Heart or both can be crucial in overall emotional equilibrium. The TCM herbalist I saw had symptoms grouped according to Organ systems. It was a very lengthy questionnaire. I answered " yes " to about every question in the Kidney section, including the ones about a history of ear and hearing problems.
