Guest guest
Although its a matter of tcm basics, i have heard different things about it, so maybe someone here can enlight me about it... Some teachers tell me Qi-stagnation can reslut in liver-fire AND liver-yang raising. and some say liver-qi stagnation can result only in liver-fire. Maciacia is his silver book writes that liver-yang stems from liver-kid yin/yang xu, which is obvious... In the pathology of liver-yang raising there is no mention of liver- qi stagnation, but the Aetiology is one of emotional problems like anger and frustration which definitely point to liver-qi stagnation. Or the point is that when liver-yin\blood is deficient, liver-qi more easly stagnates(emotionaly) and leads to this " fire " but since the root is of deficiency we call it 'yang rising'? Or should i regard it as a form of empty-heat, like kidney empty-heat, but then emotional factors are not to be taken(no qi-stagnation)? Guest guest
Dan, I think you will find as you get into it more, that almost every conceivable combination of tcm patterns is conceivable, possible and explainable. For example, Prolonged Liver Qi Stagnation could generate heat which could, over time, consume yin which could lead to Yang rising. That is just one possibility. In the end, you pretty much have to take each person as they are - be open to every possibility. Daniel
