Guest guest
I am a strong believer in and Acupuncture and avoid allopathic medicine when possible. Rather than take pharmaceuticals and/or surgery for this condition, what is the protocol in Chinese philosophy? I am a Personal Health Counselor and Massage Therapist and would like to have the information for myself and my eyes. Thanks

Problems in the eyes or with vision often indicate problems with the Liver. The Liver opens into the eyes. I've run across one acupoint which is specific for floaters in the eyes. ( " Floaters " are tiny dark spots in the field of vision.) The point is Gallbladder-37. It " brightens the eyes, Expels Wind, Clears Heat, Conducts Fire downward. " (Maciocia, Foundations, p. 450) Maciocia also says " The most important function of this point is that of benefiting the eyes, improving eyesight and eliminating " floaters " in the eyes. " There may be other acupoints for floaters, but this is the only one I'm aware of. In addition, you may want to do a TCM accessment to rule in or rule out Liver imbalance and select herbs according to results of the accessment.
