Guest guest
http://www.healingpeople.com/ht/EN/articles/1999/12/15/197.tmpl While looking for information on cerebral palsy, I found this article on neurodegenerative disorders. There may be information in this article that can be applied to cerebral palsy. There may also be information in the article for those interested in the " releasing the dragons " technique and other conditions besides neurodegenerative ones that have a lost of spirit component. This article talks about Shen (spirit) being trapped. Finally, for those new to TCM, note how the article talks about the Kidneys and the Marrow being the Root even though the symptoms are neurological. In TCM, the Brain is called " the Sea of Marrow " . Kidney Essence produces Marrow, and Marrow is " the common matrix of Bone-marrow and Brain. " (Maciocia, Foundations, pp. 124-125) If Kidney Essence (Jing) is Deficient, then Marrow will not form. In TCM the Brain and the Marrow are considered two of the Six Extraordinary Yang Organs. (The Uterus, the Bones, the Blood Vessels, and the Gall Bladder are the other 4.) Main idea for those new to TCM: Neurological symptoms such as poor memory, poor concentration, dizziness, etc. can have their Root not in the brain (as understood by Western medicine) but in the Kidneys and the Heart. The chief culprit in the case of the Kidneys is a Deficiency of Kidney Essence. The likely Roots in the case of Heart involvement are Heart Blood Deficiency and Phlegm disorders. (There are some other things which can manifest as neurological symptoms, but consider the Kidneys and the Heart.)
