Guest guest
http://acupuncture.com/Clinical/Conjunct.htm Acute conjunctivitis is an eye condition characterized by itching, sensitivity to light, stabbing pain, tearing, the sensation of something in the eye, and burning sensations. Readers new to TCM, note the possible involvement of Wind and the Liver. In TCM the Liver is said to " open into the eyes " . Very often symptoms in the eyes will indicate Liver imbalance. This isn't 100%, but whenever someone complains of eye and/or vision problems suspect and rule in or rule out Liver imbalance. Also for those new to TCM, there often are more cases of conjunctivitis in the spring than any other time of the year. Why? The spring in many parts of the world tends to be the windiest time of the year. Note under Differential Diagnosis where it says, " Wind Heat Syndrome " . Also, the Liver is very vulnerable to the effects of Wind.
