While doing a basic search for ankylosing spondylitis this morning, I ran

across this article. I don't know how accepted this is by the medical

establishment but thought I should pass it on for interested healthcare

professionals.

Ankylosing spondylitis - an arthritis/rheumatic disorder - has been

considered an autoimmune disorder. In autoimmune disorders the body's

immune system attacks the body as though it were a foreign invader like a

bacteria, virus, allergen, etc.

According to this article there may be an infection factor in ankylosing

spondylitis. This is not to say that all cases of AS or even any of them

have an infection component, but that some of them might. I'm passing this

article along in case professional TCM healers may want to consider the

possibility of examining cases suggestive of ankylosing spondylitis from the

perspective of the 6 stages of Cold-Induced Evils. This may lead in some

cases to better TCM treatment.

I did a search this morning on acupuncture.com and on healingpeople.com for

ankylosing spondylitis, but couldn't find anything specifically on AS. I

did find some very good articles on acupuncture.com on similar topics. I'm

passing these on. You may want to read the one on Bi Syndromes first. For

those new to TCM Bi Syndromes are arthritic/rheumatic pain syndromes.

You'll also see these referred to as " Painful Obstruction Syndrome. "
