Guest guest
Here is a link to a very interesting website on using aromatherapy with TCM. >http://www.aromatherapy-studies.com/energymedicine-intro.html The website advertises a course, but like all good websites there is some interesting information scattered throughout it. The course consists of 3 modules. Module 1 is Aromatic Energetics and the 5 Elements. Be sure to to the 5 elements page. I know next to nothing about aromatherapy except that Bob Flaws in some of his books says that AT has been used in TCM. The author of this website and course says there are 9 main categories of Essential Oils (EOs). They are woody, rooty, green-hebaceous, fruity, floral, spicy, citrus, resinous, and pungent-camphoraceous. He gives the example of species in the Eucalyptus genus. These tend to affect the Metal Element according to the author. The Yin Metal Organ is the Lungs, and the Yang Metal Organ is the Large Intestine. In particular species of the Eucalyptus genus " invigorate Lung-Chi " , " open chest " , and " counteract feelings of oppression, withdrawal, and melancholy. " (Lung Qi imbalance is not the only possible Root of feelings of oppression, withdrawl, and melancholy, but it is one of the possible Roots of these feelings. And, people who are depressed do tend to breathe swallowly from the top of the lungs. Module 2 is Essential Oil Energetics and Oriental Diagnosis. It goes into the energetic and psychological properties of some EOs. The 3rd module is Aromatic Acupressure and Advanced Tongue Diagnosis. I found some of the information in this section very interesting. It had never occured to me when I'm using accupressure and massage to combine these with EOs. This is something I definitely want to experiment cautiously with. The first module is being offered in Scotland, London, sites in the U.S., and sites in Australia. I only saw London for the other 2. I'm trying to find out if the info covered in the courses is covered in a book. Victoria _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
