Guest guest
Dear Group, Heat stimulation (with moxa) to Point BL 67) is used to turn breech babies. A study in JAMA mentioned doing it once a day for 7 days...but neglected to mention the length of time to apply the heat. Does anyone know? Also --- might acupressure do as well as moxa at that point? Thanks. Sam ______________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Try it today - there's no risk! Guest guest
Yes accupressure probably would work well. Remembering that moxa has more qualities than just heat. It is believed to have qi as well. Shane

Guest guest
Shane asks: > Just curious you talk alot about breech babies do you see alot of > that in your area? No. But the medical community here is a very conservative, traditional one...and I expect them to be resistant (or even mocking) of any acupuncture attempts. So my thoughts are to do (at first) just a few simple procedures that have good medical literature support (like turning breech babies; using P6 and a few other points for chemotherapy induced nausea; etc). Guest guest
How long would it take for moxa at BL 67 to turn a breech baby? This question reminds me of the story of a woman who after her dog died found herself quite emotionally upset. After a period of time, her family suggested she get psychiatric support; some kind of counseling. Never having done such a thing before she hauled out the yellow pages and started making phone calls. She asked two questions. How much would a session cost and how many sessions would she need to get over a dead pet. ;-) I've been told acupressure at BL 67 could be effective to turn a breech baby. Lighting up a moxa when a woman is in labor might be just too weird for some hospitals but holding on to a toe (and a few other choice tsubos) is something no one but mommy, daddy and you (ok, and maybe grandma) need know is going on. Guest guest
>For info. on breech babies and acupuncture see this web site > >http://breech.supanet.com/ Thanks. This is some good information. If you click on Acupuncture Clinic toward the bottom of this page, it will take you to a main page where you can get to articles on asthma, migraines, and other things.
