What are some of the possible Roots of ruptured or herniated disks? I was

reading something that made me wonder if Kidney Yin Deficiency leading to

Eidney Essence Deficiency is one of the possible Roots.

Thanks,

Victoria

Any suggestions on herbs to use for Prostate Enlargement. I know Saw Palmetto

but this did not work for this person. He is now on a pharmaceutical that is

making him fall asleep and I believe that it has cortisone in it. Any feedback

would be helpful.

Thanks

Shane

What Root syndrome(s) does he suffer from? I checked a book (which is not

very good) that listed Dampness and Qi Stagnation as possible Roots for

prostate trouble. One of the herbs recommended was cinnamon bark, which

warms the Interior. This would only work if the Root imbalance was Cold

Dampness. If it's Damp Heat, the cinnamon bark would make it worse.

I wouldn't take the Dampness and Qi Stagnation as chiseled in stone. This

particular book frequently leaves out a lot of possible TCM syndromes that

could underlie a particular Western medical problem.

Interesting that he didn't respond to the Saw Palmetto. I wish I knew what

the thermal energy of Saw Palmetto is, but I don't have that information.

Let me see if I can find some more info.
