Guest guest
Each meridian has a two hour period during the day when it is the most active (and in some cases the most vulnerable). For example, the time of maximum emphasis for the Lung is between 3 and 5 am. Some of the worst asthma attacks and breathing problems can occur then. In the previous post I talked about how people who are severely Liver Yin Deficient may have a symptom of an unpleasant feeling of floating while falling asleep. There may also be a feeling of alternate falling and floating. People who are Liver Blood Deficient and/or Liver Yin Deficient may experience fear before bed and put off going to bed because of it. This may be a person who can sleep fine during the day with no fear. So why are do these feelings tend to come at night and are so much more marked at certain times during the night? The Gallbladder meridian's time of maximum emphasis is between 11 pm and 1 am. The time for the Liver is between 1 am and 3 am. The GallBladder is the Yang organ/meridian of the Wood element; the Liver is the Yin organ/meridian of the Wood element. Depending on the total pattern of the person's health, these feelings of disquiet may start to show up from 9 to 11 pm, the time of emphasis for the Triple Burner meridian. Fear of falling asleep and feelings of floating are associated with Liver Blood and/or Liver Yin Deficiency. In other Liver and Gall Bladder imbalances the person may experience nausea, be awakened out of sleep by nausea and other digestive problems during this period from 11 pm to 3 am when first the GallBladder and then the Liver are emphasized. In some people GallBladder attacks will actually start during the 11 pm to 1 am period. The symptoms during this time may be severe or may start off as a vague sense of something not being right and the person not being able to get comfortable and go back to sleep. Sometimes a problem will not respond to treatment unless treatment is given during the maximum time of emphasis for that organ. In other cases, treatment is best given in the 2 hours after the maximum time of emphasis. Usually, treatments will work any time of the day, but in a few cases treatment is best given during the time of maximum emphasis. The times of day and the meridians are as follows: Gallbladder 11 pm to 1 am Liver 1 am to 3 am Lung 3 am to 5 am Large Intestine 5 am to 7 am Stomach 7 am to 9 am Spleen 9 am to 11 am Heart 11 am to 1 pm Small Intestine 1 pm to 3 pm Bladder 3 pm to 5 pm Kidney 5 pm to 7 pm Pericardium 7 pm to 9 pm Triple Heater 9 to 11 pm Victoria --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy.
