Guest guest
These are alternate terms for meridians. Actually, they imply a lot more than just that, but this is the simplified explanation. I figure some of you are going to check out some of the other info on the acupressure.com site besides the pictures of the meridians. You'll be checking out some of the medical conditions listed on there. When you do, you're going to run across these terms in some of the articles. The TaiYang (Greater Yang) meridians are the Small Intestine and Bladder meridians. I posted earlier tonight on these two when I was talking about the headaches I used to have being relieved by points on the SI and B meridians. When an evil is attacking just the TaiYang meridians, it is completely Exterior. The ShaoYang (Lesser Yang) meridians are the Triple Heater and the Gallbladder. ShaoYang-stage evil is partially Exterior and partially Interior. The YangMing (Yang Brightness) meridians are the Large Intestine and the Stomach. TaiYin means Greater Yin (just like TaiYang means Greater Yang), and these meridians are the Lungs and Spleen. ShaoYin means Lesser Yin, and these meridians are the Heart and Kidney. JueYin means Absolute Yin, and these are the Pericardium and Liver meridians. So if you happen to check out the first article on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, this is what these terms mean. There have been previous posts on this list about Cold-Induced Evils that uses these terms. TaiYang-stage Evil is entirely Exterior and not yet very serious. The treatment for TaiYang-stage Exterior Cold is diaphoresis (sweating). The treatment for TaiYang-stage Wind is harmonizing the Protective (Wei) Qi and the Nutritive (Ying) Qi.
