Guest guest
San Jiao or Sanjiao is another term for the Triple Heater (Triple Warmer) meridian. In most acupuncture books you will see the TH abbreviation for this merdian. Others will use TW (Triple Warmer), and some will use SJ. They all mean the same thing. The Upper Warmer or Upper Sanjiao is the Lung and Heart, the Middle Warmer is the Spleen and Stomach, and the Lower Warmer is the Small Intestine, Large Intestine, Kidney, and Bladder. Some authors consider the Liver and Gallbladder part of the Lower Warmer, but most consider it part of the Middle Warmer (though in most of the writings when the author refers to Middle Burner, s/he's talking primarily about the Spleen and Stomach). You'll see the Triple Heater referred to in diagnosis and treatment plans. For example, Cold Damp Accumulation and Stagnation in the Lower Burner. What this means is there's Cold and Dampness in the lower abdomen. It's not just one organ/meridian but the entire area. Victoria --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Share what you know.
