Guest guest
I just discovered another source for TCM books. http://www.varsitybooks.com/ When you log long, do a search for the keyword . I like to look through these lists because I then try to get the books that interest me through interlibrary loan. If it's a good one I'd like to own, I order myself a copy. This cuts down on a lot of disappointment. Here's an interesting title that I'm going to try to take a look at through interlibrary loan: Dragon Rises, Red Bird Flies: Psychology, Energy, and by Leon Hammer. From the title I'm wondering if this goes into Liver and Heart problems in detail. If I'm remembering the associations correctly, the Green Dragon is associated with the East and the Liver and Gallbladder, and the Red Bird (Phoenix) is associated with the South and the Heart and the Small Intestine. Both the Liver and the Heart in TCM can be associated with emotions and psychological problems. Later on you'll be learning about Shen, which dwells in the Heart. Severe physical imbalances can affect Shen, and this can be the root of the severe mental illnesses as well as a lot of accompanying physical problems.
