Guest guest
I can give you an example of mixing herbs to change the overall thermal energy of the mixture. I have a problem with colonic inertia (read Stagnation). I'm also way too Cold because of a Yang Deficiency (Deficiency Cold). Taking an herb like Plantago psyllium not only does not help me, it makes the colonic inertia worse. Plantago psyllium is a cooling herb. Just what I don't need with that Deficiency Cold, more cooling. So instead of mixing it with water or fruit juice, I mixed it with ginger tea. Very strong ginger tea. Then the psyllium did act to promote bowel movement though not as much as I needed. The overall thermal energy of the mixture of the two herbs was not as cold as psyllium by itself. There are better herbs for my specific condtion (too Cold already) for this problem. Victoria --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Share what you know. Learn what you don't. Guest guest
I see TCM as a balanced approach to medicine. In the West it is rolling up the sleeves and pounding with the big mallet. Observe in the news yesterday where a guy was given a strong drug for back pain amd now is awaiting a liver transplant as a result. This thing of going heavy on the attack is an ancient Taoist no-no. For example, had Booker T. Washington been listened to, Afro-Americans would be in a far better position today. He believed in an approach very unlike that of MLK, and due to this he declined in prestige in his later years and death in 1915. The NAACP was organized in 1909 and here we are today with racism and affirmative action. TCM is in accord with Tao Te Ching where victory, and cures, are achieved by using the power of the stronger force to defeat it. The stiffer resistence, the quicker an object will break. Try cutting fine grass with a sling blade. It won't cut, whereas tough stalks slice easily. Tyannasaurus Mex ______________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
