Guest guest
OK, I made my first batch but I am getting the numbing and tingling of the lips and tongue. I used cuttings from some friend's property. They are organic and no spraying so I am not sure if that is what causes that effect. I cooked it for four hours and then removed the plant matter and boiled it down some more for a few hours and strained it through two colanders with two brown paper towels in each and did that twice so it went through eight paper towels. Did I do something wrong or in wrong order? Ruth
Guest guest
Hi Ruth, If you are feeling numbing and tingling of the lips and tongue, discard it immediately. This is usually the sign that the plant has indeed been sprayed. I haven't heard of any other reason for this happening. Are they absolutely sure that the plant has never been sprayed? Or it near the street and does someone come along spraying weeds on the side of the road or some such thing? But don't take anymore of that soup. Toss it. Hugs, oleander soup , " Ruth Harris " <phoophh wrote: > > OK, I made my first batch but I am getting the numbing and tingling of > the lips and tongue. I used cuttings from some friend's property. Guest guest
I prefer brown unbleached coffee filters and doing he filtration twice. It does not sound like you did anything wrong. Pesticide and herbicide free oleander will not normally cause your lips or tongue to tingle. And whenever you do feel such tingling, discard the " soup " and find a better source of your raw plant material. The next batch you might try some BEFORE adding the vodka or apple cider vinegar to be sure. Sounds to me though like your source is not as organic as believed. oleander soup , " Ruth Harris " <phoophh wrote: > > OK, I made my first batch but I am getting the numbing and tingling of > the lips and tongue.
