Guest guest
Started taking Niacin today and took 500mg seeing as my wife and dad took the same amount I thought I could as well and was eager to feel that flush that it gives, I got the flush allright, but a few minutes after I felt ill, my head felt so so light and my brain wasn't functioning properly, I felt I was gonna die I had negotiate the wall of the coridoor to get to the phone and could'nt talk much when the operator asked me what I took. I couldn't even tell my wife or dad. It wasn't just lightheadedness but my brain function for a minute was gone, I can't even explain how I felt, it was as if someone had just punched my on the jaw and it was 'lights out'. By the time the ambulance came I felt much better, 10mins later - but they took me into the ambulance and checked my heart and blood pressure - which was 100/70 which was way too low as my normal blood pressure is about 130/80 and the pressure was even lower when I felt the fainting feelings after the niacin induced flush. Niacin I was advised shouldn't be taken if it gives you this reaction, I beleive that the lowering of blood pressure that Niacin produced and the Brain effects that Niacin can have (NIacin is used in scizophrenia cases) and the fact that I take Seroxat(Paxil) may have had this terrible side effect, although the doctors checked on their computer and they said there shouldn't be any interaction with Seroxat, I'm not so sure what happened. In the 80's I took niacin 500mg and had those cool flushing effects and after finishing the bottle thought no need to take it anymore, in those days I didn't take seroxat and so wonder whether that is the link (or maybe I'm getting older, hehe) I wonder if Niacin can be omitted from the Gerson and just the Juicing and coffee enemas be done? I was thinking about taking only 100mg at a time but worried about taking any now, mind you - I was taking Bcomplex which has Niacin in it at 50mg along with other B vitamins and two a day has been okay, today I took the Bcomplex as usual but added B3 500mg and BANG! Maybe eating high Niacin foods are okay. What do you guys think? Thanks guys!! Gerald PS Some guys also gave advice on acid reflux and taking apple cider vinegar or HCI, I did these things and felt really bad after about 10 days of this, my esophagus actually got much much worse and I had burning on my left side and then my right side and then swollen/raised tissue at the back of my thraot that I can visibly see from the mirror, I beleive this is the EXCESS ACID that has bathed my already weak and sensitive esophagus recently, I stopped taking the acid promoting nutrients and took my pharmaceuticals (Losec) and took juices ala Gerson and took some supplement and within a week felt much better and the pains stopped. What I want to say is that the statements that acid reflux is to do with having too little acid is RUBBISH, and people who say otherwise are giving the wrong advice in many cases and causing people who beleive that increasing their acid levels will help their esophagus, actually they could be buring their esophagus and cancer can happen at any moment the esophagus starts getting burnt, could be 6months or could be 20yrs and so don't beleive what others say on the internet as they usually don't know what they are talking about, they may think they do but actually don't!! The best advice one guy gave me was to eat smaller meals and I think not to take the HCI, his advice was correct in my view, others were wrong. My advice to others is, be careful as many people are NOT experts and have just ideas and theories and can worsen your health even though they may mean well, so be careful please guys, also guys be careful in giving advice as you could inadvertantly be hurting others with your 'advice' which is irresponsible!! I hope I have learnt my lesson now.
