Most reflux problems ARE as a result of too little acid

Hello,

My husband has been diagnosed with gastric reflux (after a couple of gastroscopies to check on the presence of varices due to cirhosis/hepc). However he is not in pain, is now digesting better (after several months on a natural protocol including OPC, cs, and more) and doesnot suffer from heartburn. His mds are recommending he takes medication for the gastric reflux: antra or ranitidina abc

They are also telling us that the gastric reflux could be causing the mouth ulcers which he often suffers from.

Is it possible to have acid reflux and not be disturbed by it physically?

***Speaking as someone who's had the Nissan procedure, you need to fix the problem. The meds only inhibit the production of acids (which will cause absorption problems, and problems further down the intestine). My dad died of esophageal cancer. My problems were due years of medical treatment for sinus problems (colloidal silver fixed). The meds stopped the burning, but did nothing for the reflux and caused more fermentation (the reason for the reflux).

I feel like, if I had had adequate stomach acid, and the valve in my esophagus had worked correctly, I would not have had the surgery. My daughter finds relief when she takes Papaya Enzyme, and has also had relief from the Chiro.

If it were me, I would only take the meds if I were absolutely certain that the problem was too much acid (and not too little..) and I was in pain. Ron

In my case taking HCI and apple cider vinegar and having more pain and

burning would indicate that too much acid is the problem, being

overweight can also be a big problem and stretch the LES so maybe

losing all the weight would fix the problem or help me to reduce meds.

Thanks for tthat in put. I do think he has too little acid. Don-t know if any of u beleive in the blood group theory - I think there is a lot of truth in it and apparently blood group A is low in acid (which is why coffee is good for them). Husband is blood group A and coffee does help him digest altho he is not a big coffee drinker.

Any way he is not going to start the medication prescribed by the doctor especially as he has had no syptoms or discomfort and is now actually digesting what he eats.

Nelly

PS he is definitely not overweight although did used to overeat when tempted by his favourite foods (as many of us mere mortals do)

***Not necessarily. But you know your body best. Please try some enzymes to help digest the food that you have in your stomach. It could be the fermenting food. C

hi Shellli,

Only now had time to check in my book on blood group AB acidity: "Type ABs have Type A's low stomach acid, along with Type B's adaptation to meat. So, altho they are genetically programmed for te consumption of meats, they lack enough stomach acid to metabolize them efficiently, and the meat that is eaten gets stored as fat. "

If you are interested in these theories I recommend the book "The Eat Right Diet" by Dr. Peter D'Adamo".

Best regards

Nelly
