Guest guest
Rhoda and All - These oncologists base " expiry dates " solely on the fact that they know exactly how long it will take for the chemicals to kill someone (they are all different), NOT BECAUSE THEY KNOW who you are as a person, or how you take care of yourself on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels (all of which are factored in to total healing). They also base this so called date on the " average " person. Average people are those who don't exercise and eat poorly, and don't do anything proactive. The same rules can't apply to people who are taking care of themselves. With all the psychoneuroimmunology studies and the field of epigenetics so many are writing about, we are learning that one also must pay attention to what they choose to " listen " to. They've proven time and again that when we are told we have so many months to live and we buy into it, our immune systems will kick in and do as it " is told " . Please don't listen to this! 5 years ago I had a doctor at Cleveland Clinic tell me if I went ahead with my extensive dental surgeries I would be dead of a heart attack or stroke in a year (um......still here). I guess he'd rather have seen me die of staph and strep infections in my body. 2 years ago I walked away from a number of cancer " experts " after they told me I'd be dead in a year. I challenged them all to the point they never called me to come back. They can't answer the hard questions because they're legally bound not to. I asked why they all offer everyone the same cookie cutter approach regardless of what a person's immune system is like, and one finally had the guts to tell me because of lawsuits. They come from a " health " system dynamic of fear - something I chose not to be a part of. I don't buy into the fear. If they're afraid, they don't get paid and I go elsewhere. I refused to listen 2 years ago and am healthier now than I have been in a decade. I still have healing to do but I choose to move forward and continue on until this is out of my body. Please Rhoda, continue to ask for answers and help here but base all your decisions on what your own intuition and gut are telling you to do. If any doctor's input frightens you, leave. If you think chemo may help you in some way, keep supporting your immune system, but don't let them tell you they know when you'll die. It's a lie.
