Gold made your finger turn black? Okay, my question is, do you wear

gold comfortably? I mean, do you get a rash, itch, do you have any

reaction? If you are wearing gold comfortably now there shouldn't be a

problem. Maybe that other time when you finger turned black was some

kind of fluke? Or....... was it really gold?

If you are allergic to gold, you should not take colloidal gold.

However, if you are wearing gold now with no reactions, you should be

fine.

Gold also makes my fingers turn black but only when I am highly

acidic. Once I got my ph down the black went away. Funny thing is now

my skin actually " polishes " silver. The tarnish just rubs off when I

touch silver.

Usually rings are not 24k gold. 24k gold is too soft, so other metals must be added to give it strength--which is why there is 12, 14, 18, etc k gold marked on jewelry.

It could have been that it was actually a low karat gold ring, meaning only 10 or 12k. If it was higher--usually not too many people have trouble with 14 or above, though some folks MUST have 18 or above, then it could have been whatever supplements you were taking at the time that interfered with the other metal in the ring.

Samala,

Renee--who also dabbles as a silversmith. ;-)
