Guest guest
You are most welcome Bonnie. Just a little anecdote. A healthy farmer uncle went to a dr the week before his 65th birthday for a fingernail fungus. The dr wanted to give him a flu jab & he refused it as he had never had a flu in his life & didn't feel he was at risk of dying from complications (most of which appear to be Vit A deficiencies BTW). The dr looked at his records and checked his date of birth & told him to come back next week as it is free for the over 65's in NZ! My uncle hooted and asked what difference the next week would make to his risk! Just shows how ridiculous it is. Well, he's 75, still never had a flu or the jab, & is still mustering on horseback - prefers it to farm bikes. He swears he will die with his boots on. Maracuja Thank you so much for all this important info Maracuja! A lot to injest and sorry now I got any flu shots at all! Hugs today, Bonnie & ACody .. Guest guest
Bonnie I wonder what my uncle would make of a story I heard about on Good Morning America. Apparently they are recommending that all children get flu jabs because a study was done that showed many children died when they got the flu because they also had staph infections. Therefore they (apparently) need the jab. So a staph infection is NOT a contraindication!?! It darned well should be. There was a wise dr who said that the safest vaccine is the one that isn't used! Love, Maracuja
