Harald Tietze, the Australian papaya enthusiast recommends boiling the leaves for quite a while if I remember right - yep, just checked: simmer for an hour. It tastes vile apparently but he insists it is very effective against cancer - within weeks - so he claimsJonathan www.fightingcancer.com--- On Thu, 9/18/08, melly banagale <tita_mel wrote:melly banagale <tita_mel Papaya leavesoleander soup Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 7:45 PM

Hi all,

When i first researched papaya, it was said to boil the leaves.

I revisited, just now, the below website with info that it should be used just as one would use other teas. You may wish to visit this website to find out how papaya works with some cancers.

In another site it said do not boil the dried leaves as it would destroy the enzymes. It further said just to boil water, put in a cup and steep the dried leaves for no more than 15 minutes.

Both sites however said that it should be taken hot 150F.

Jonathan,

I now realize for FRESH leaves: put as much in non-metallic pot and cover with water and boil then simmer til it gets to 1/2 of its original water.

With DRIED leaves steep one teaspoon of powderized/cut up dried leaves in cup of boiling water.

Take 3 to 6 cups a day.

It is very bitter.
