HI people - just returned from a catastrophic vacation - thought I had a

sinus infection - got home yesterday-ran (well...couldn't...)to

doctor. Shingles of the eye. I'm in agony - have been for 5 days

-looks like I've been punched in face - all purpled and oozing pussy

stuff. I'm miserable. Can I use CS on a warm compress on my eye? = Joan

YIKES!!!!!!!All I can say is bless your heart. By all means, put the colloidal silver compress on your eye and take it internally. I think I would have the compress at room temperature. Also, since herpes is a virus, take the colloidal silver internally. Lots of it, don't be shy. Remember, you cannot overdose. Beneficial herbs for this condition are:Cayenne contains a substance called capsaicin, which relieves pain and aids in healing. It also acts as a detoxifier. If you cannot stand the heat (although I have become used to it), it is available in capsule and tablet form.AlfalfaChamomile (do not use on an ongoing basis as it can develop allergic reactions. Do not use at all if you are allergic to ragweed)DandelionThese promote healing by helping to restore the body's normal acid/alkaline balance. Dandelion also helps to detoxify and support the liver. A cool chamomile compress can aid in soothing the blisters.Astragalus root and echinacea boost immune function.Bi phaya yaw - an herb used in traditional Thai medicine has been shown in clinical studies to shorted the time it takes to recover from shingles. It is applied in cream form.Burdock and red clover cleanse both the lymph nodes and the bloodstream.Goldensel has powerful antibiotic properties and reduces infection. Do not take this herb internally on a daily basis for more than one week at a time. Do not use during pregnancy, and use it with caution if you are allergic to ragweed.Green Tea has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. The polyphenols it contins have been found to fight herpes viruses.Licorice extract can be used topically to treat shingles. It appears to interfere with the growth of the virus.Milk Thistle protects the liver and promotes healthy liver function.St. John's WortSkullcapPassion FlowerValerian RootThese help to reduce stress and itching. If you are interested, I know someone who makes an excellent tincture that I can put you in touch with.Olive leaf extract aids in fighting the virus.Rose Hips are high in vitamin C and are good for preventing infections on the skin. And finally, rest and PAMPER YOURSELF.Please keep us posted as to how you are doing. Joan,

I feel so bad for you ... I have horses and one of my mare gets allergies in her eyes... and they drain... I spray her eyes with CS and she stands completely still while I do it. It clears her eyes for a couple of days. If it is safe for my horses eyes I would say it is for human eyes as well.

Blessings,

Bonnie F

But have you joined oleander soup for pets which just focuses on animals?

In your short tenure with us you seem to have invaluable information. I

believe you could have so much to share there also.

Or....... am I missing something? I looked to see if you were a member

there but couldn't find you.

also, if you take some warm salt water and add goldenseal and use that to wash the area...that helps me a lot. My husband is allergic to Goldenseal though.

I use warm salt water with goldenseal in a bulb syringe to flush my sinuses in the shower. This is really helpful...and a very old remedy/preventative. HOWEVER, don't hold back on the CS.

If I were having eye problems right now, I would probably wash my eyes thoroughly with salt water and goldenseal, spray them down with CS, and then when they are kinda dry apply some extra virgin olive oil and try to sleep through it. YMMV C

Hi Joan:

Shingles of the eye!! Wow, it sounds sooooo painful. I helped my daughter cure her shingles with essential oils. I would absolutely NOT put this directly into your eye, but if the shingles spreads to other parts of your face, you can use it on that.

My daughter gets shingles off and on because stress triggers it. From the time she has the first sign of it, the shingles last from 3-5 weeks along with the typical blisters, oozing and scabbing and intense pain and nothing has ever really worked for her-even anti viral meds haven't worked.

Last week she called and asked me if I had any suggestions because she had the beginning of shingles on the side of her nose where she got it the time before. I researched and came up with the following essential oil recipe: 10 drops of Bergamot, 6 drops of lemon, 4 drops eucalyptus, 10 drops Germanium in 1 TBSP organic virgin coconut oil. I also gave her a bottle of lavender. She put a drop of neat lavender directly on her nose, followed by the essential oil blend every 30 minutes the lst day. (she also took 500 mg. lysine 2 -3 times a day). The next day she called and said the shingles was not progressing as it usually does, which totally shocked her, so she continued w/ the program. The following day it had completely halted and was drying up--no pain, no swelling, no blisters. The next day you could not tell it had even there. We are BEYOND AMAZED and thrilled!!

If anyone has any knowledge of essential oils and they feel it would be ok to put it directly into the eye, please respond. But my thought is definately not. But I would not hesitate to spray colloidal silver directly into your eye, as often as you can do it.

Hope this helps. Marcia

There is now a squeeze bottle made just for this purpose. I take mine into the

shower with me every morning. Check to see if it is available at your pharmacy.

It comes with packets of baking soda and salt but I now mix my own using two

salt measures to one soda measure. I make a big jar full and use one half

teaspoon per bottle. I also have mixed that mixture half and half with xylitol

which is anti-bacterial and use one teaspoon of that per bottle. Try to find

salt that has no anti-caking agent as that can be a bit irritating. Some

packaged sea salt even has it so look at ingredients.

Thanks SO much for the recipe & the info Marcia. So far, I'm sticking

with DR meds & CS to soften & clean goo & oozing. I feel too bad to

enjoy my " time off " . The most I can manage is an occasional TV show.

I can't get much food down, nap some and have 4 very frustrated

dogs...who can't understand why I'm not constantly playing with them! = J

You're welcome. Just keep the essential oil recipe so if you get shingles again, you can try it. If you get it once, you may tend to get it again. Now my daughter is not afraid of it bc she can get rid of it very quickly. Hope you're feeling better soon.
