Guest guest
Rhoda - Yes, I remember well what a fraidy cat you were! LOL. But I well realize how crazy and scary it may sound to tell someone to take a highly poisonous plant and make an extract to take orally. I think that technically you may be at least partially right - the boiling process does not eliminate all of the toxins so much as it extracts a tiny bit of the cardiac glycosides and a great many other cancer fighting compounds while leaving those toxins it does not render non-toxic behind in the remaining plant material that you filter out. On the other hand, boiling may have some effect because Dr. Ozel noted that his early preparations of what later came to be known as Anvirzel were not at the safe stage until the water turned brownish. When it comes to extra filtration, I don't think that you are actually filtering any toxins out once you have all of the plant material removed. What you are filtering out are some large chain organic compounds that can cause stomach distress and some of the other side effects. That is why those people who make their own oleander extract and use an extra filtration step of several unbleached coffee filters (or else use filters they obtain from a medical supply company and/or off the internet) report little or no side effects, the same as happens with the patented medicine version Anvirzel, which the home remedy was patterned after. oleander soup , " Rhoda Mead " <hummingbird541 wrote: > > *Dear Marcia, No one could be more afraid making a oleander poisonous brew > than I was!
