Guest guest
I received my capsules today (thanks for your help Tony) for my dog Gemma. She will be getting one capsule a day, but I'll start with a lower dose and work up to that amount. My question is, since she's only fed once a day, is it OK to give her the entire one capsule dose with that meal? Or is it better to divide it into two doses in two meals? Since she's getting IP6 w/Inositol on an empty stomach twice a day, she's fed her meal in the a.m., then the IP6 in the late afternoon and late evening. An extra meal for another OPC dose wouldn't leave her with an empty stomach for the IP6. Confusing, I know. Just want to be sure OPC would be just as effective if only given once a day instead of twice daily as recommended in the directions. Thanks!!------------------------------Nancy and Gemma (Ugh! Not more pills!)
Guest guest
Offhand I would say that one capsule once a day would be OK if you must do it that way (though you should work her way up to that amount) - however, the reasons for the divided dose are two-fold: First, to keep the amount of medicine in the body more consistent throughout the day and second, to be able to give a larger, or maximum dose, more than once a day. Remember to not administer colloidal silver or gold at the same time as the IP6. oleander soup , " tolzarg " <Tolzar wrote: > > I received my capsules today (thanks for your help Tony) for my dog Gemma. Guest guest
Hi Nancy, Don't have any answer, sorry, but, how about putting the second dose in a little ground meat..like a small meatball sized treat, then it will be out of the stomach fairly quickly.Nonie --------------------------- Just want to be sure OPC would be just as effective if only given once a day instead of twice daily as recommended in the directions. Guest guest
OK, if I split Gemma's meal into 2 feedings, she can have breakfast with 1/2 OPC capsule at 7am, IP6 at 1 or 2pm (hopefully stomach is empty at that point), lunch with 1/2 OPC capsule around 5, then IP6 at 11pm. I'll have to take her water with CS away 30 min. before and after the IP6 doses. In about 2 weeks the IP6 will go down from 4 to 2 pills/day but I'll still give in 2 doses. Crikey! I hope I see some improvement after all this! BTW, she left a bit of food this morning so I think she detected some OPC powder. I only dusted a bit in her food to start with.--------------------------------Nancy and Gemma (speechless)
Guest guest
Hi Nancy, Am I correct in thinking that the colloidal silver should be removed for probably two hours before or after taking IP6? Please someone correct me if I have this wrong. Goodness, it is so funny how they know when something has been mixed in their food, no matter how well. They are indeed " furkids. " As for the rest of your OPC Schedule, I will let Marc pop in and reply. Bless your heart, I wish you the very best during this time. Please let us know how Gemma progresses. & Misty oleander soup , " tolzarg " <Tolzar wrote: > > OK, if I split Gemma's meal into 2 feedings, she can have breakfast with 1/2 OPC capsule at 7am, IP6 at 1 or 2pm (hopefully stomach is empty at that point), lunch with 1/2 OPC capsule around 5, then IP6 at 11pm.
