What are antioxidants!

Tony, I'm so glad you wrote this about the function of antioxidants, " A second myth, or misunderstanding, is the idea that anti-oxidants somehow retard or prevent cellular oxygenation. Not at all true - what anti-oxidants do is scavange free radicals and prevent oxidative damage.

Aha, because it fits into my mindset, I think it must be true. I've always thought the flaxseedoil2 moderator took Budwig's statement about not overdoing antioxidants much too literally, and says not to take any at all. Of course we need them!

My personal jury is still out on whether or not to stop oleander for a week while taking transdermal OCC. We are experimenting on ourselves, breaking new ground. If one of us does well and another does not, we can't be sure of precisely why. And I'm very glad of that. We aren't lab animals but very complex humans with so many variables that they can't be totally controlled. Rhoda

The only thing I would "worry" about is that MMS is an oxidant, and perhaps taking any type of antioxidant while on the OCC protocol might interfere with how the protocol works.

A few people on the MMS list said that the oxidative problem showed up in their facial skin--saggy, droopy, sallow looking, wrinkles. This was after a much longer period of time while taking oral MMS than the week needed for OCC. They also reversed this skin effect with high doses of various antioxidants.

I don't know if the antioxidants would just do their job of stopping oxidative destruction, or would actually interfere with what MMS is doing to the cells. No one has ever really addressed this issue in any of the groups or lists. All anyone says for sure is to take C away from the MMS by a few hours, because C will go out of the system in 2 to 3 hours. There's something in C that stops MMS from working. Is it the antioxidant property of C that does this? <shrug>

I guess because I think anyone doing the OCC for a serious problem would not want to take the chance of anything interfering with it, I'd be hesitant to take any type of antioxidant at all.

Of course, that's just my opinion--which means diddly to anyone else. :-)

My understanding of why NOT to take any other cancer protocol

(while on OCC) including oleander is

because the OCC formula will drive whatever is in your system directly to the

cancer. This would kill too many cancer

cells and cause a severe detox that could be life threatening. I thought you wanted your body free of all

drugs and forms of chemicals that could kill cancer when doing OCC. The idea is the kill the microbe inside the

cell not kill the cell itself.

If anyone understands this differently and this is not the

OCC intent I would like to hear about it.

Thanks

Seth

Could be you are right. But I think what they talk about is speculation--saying that they are not even killing cancer cells(bacteria-virus?) but converting them back to normal cells. This is based on the belief of a microbe that is causing cancer. Some say cancer is caused by a fungus, some a virus. It could be either one of these depending on the type of cancer. No one has any definite answers.

They don't want the body to be overloaded with toxic die-off. Which is true, because that's what too much MMS does and why people get sick while on MMS--toxic overload for the body.

I'm just saying they don't have all the answers. It's still theory. BUT--it is a great theory and one I would try myself. I believe it will work, because I know what MMS does and I know what DMSO does.

I still would not take an antioxidant while taking this oxidant protocol, simply because I wouldn't want anything to interfere with with the protocol. Whether it was because of cell die off, or simply shutting down the MMS (through antioxidant use) wouldn't really matter to me. I would want to give the body the best chance for recovery, meaning using the OCC all by itself. It's only a weeks worth of time. After that, then a person could flood their body with antioxidants and immune support to help the body. We only get sick because the immune system isn't functioning properly. So no matter what, the immune system must be enhanced. Once the OCC has done its job.

Hi, Group, some cancer protocols would have an oxidative phase and

then the immune support phase where you kill the cancer or virus &

then " clean " it. The times varies like with Artemisinin it can be 5

days on and 2-5 days off; Grouppe Kurosawa protocols need to be

pulsed every couple to several weeks. I think this makes sense even

for the simple reason that the body can get de-sentisized.
