Guest guest
Hello,I used to have a chow, black one from a breeder. She was a good dog, it is almost rare breed, I had her 15 years and she died this year and I was trying to find another breeder here in Florida where I live now. I used to live in Chicago, that is where I had my dog named Florida from, she was a small puppy. I do not know why they consider that breed not good, my dog was not agressive at all. But now I could not find another chow here and I did not want to pay shipping from some far away state and buy some dog getting it "mailed" to me. I went to Humane society and got me some mix puppy, 4 month old, she is probably most lab, black but has some Shar-Pei in her too. She is completely different dog then my chow was. This one has soooo much energy, it is a strong dog, pulls me hard when I walk her, love to play with toys, almost forcing me to play with her, bringing me toys, pushing them into my thight to take it and pull on it, play with her. And also when I just got her, she was destroying our shoes. Something my chow, even as a puppy never did. Sometimes I miss my chow, it was faithfull and non demanding dog. But then again, I am glad I saved this dog's life by adopting her. I am still thinking - one day I will get one more dog, and it will be another chow. My son had 3 chows too, we have chows in our family. Good luck to you Libby
Guest guest
Libby, Despite the fact I believe animal information should be on a different site, I can't resist replying to your post. I have a chow-German shepherd mix (about 7 years old now) and one could not find a finer dog. Loves children and friendly people; challenges all outsiders who come on our property. So smart it's a little scary. What a great dog! Phil ---------- - LL oleander soup Monday, September 01, 2008 8:11 AM for Marcia Hello,I used to have a chow, black one from a breeder.
