Guest guest
Bob,Good input. I have been doing some searching of the web regarding metal impurities in zeolite and it seems that iron is the primary impurity and that it is only in the ppm range of concentration. One method mentioned on the web of removing the iron is powderizing the zeolite and using a magnet to remove iron particles. I certainly will do this.It is also stated that the metals in natural Zeolite are bound within the negatively charged honeycomb of the zeolite and are not biologically available.I was glad to see that stated because that is what I would expect from a substance that is supposed to bind with and remove heavy metals from the body. The " Activated " liquid zealite claimed to be purified is purified by heating at 200 deg. F for 2 hours in a 5% acetic acid (vinegar) solution with a small amount of iron oxide (rust) added. Frankly I am not sure what benefit this purification accomplishes but it is relatively easy to do.I am not sure what an assay would provide if the metals are not bioavailable to start with. Do you have information that the metals are bioavailable? - Steve-oleander soup <oleander soup >oleander soup <oleander soup >Thu Aug 21 22:06:58 2008Re: ZeoliteSteve, It is my understanding that some zeolites, including the clinoptilolites, contain trace amounts of heavy metals. Make sure you get an assay of the product before taking it internally. Please, if you experiment with purifying the zeolite, let us know your results. And your results from using the powdered zeolite even if you don't purify it. As I am now fascinated by clay, and have learned that TLC clay is the clay just below the top layer of zeolite, I'm very interested in the powdered zeolite too. Thanks, Renee ---- After investigating further, I am convinced that I and two of my relatives (and also my dog) have medical conditions that can be helped by Zeolite and possibly Calcium Bentonite. So, I have searched for a reasonably priced source of quality Zeolite.
