Where is it found?

DMSO is derived from trees as a manufacturing by-product from the processing of paper. Metabolites (breakdown products) of DMSO, such as the sulfide and sulfone forms, are naturally present in the human body. However, the role of these in the body is not clear.

Conclusions regarding the effects of altered reaction conditions are very preliminary. When the data from all the laboratories are pooled, it seems apparent that DMSO can improve, sometimes significantly, the accuracy of the basecalling. This trend holds for all sequence intervals examined. Assessing the effectiveness of altered thermocycling is somewhat unclear due to the fact that different labs use different protocols. Further analysis of altered thermocycling will be conducted and incorporated into this study.

This one sounds pretty darn good but I couldn't quite read through everything. Maybe someone else can look through all of this, not that long, and make something of it. Too much I didn't understand.

Thanks again, Renee.

When you say " takes " DMSO it seems to imply taking it orally but I've

only used it topically. I don't know if I would be eager to take it

orally.....lol. It's powerful stuff.

Yes, he takes it orally. Nasty, smelly stuff, but it works wonders from the inside. Stops all kids of aches and pains, stops inflammation, etc. He started using it externally but found he gets much better relief taking it orally. He's found that if you put your DMSO (start with just a quarter teaspoon and work up to 1 teaspoon) in a small glass of either orange juice or V8 you can't taste it. And he's pretty sensitive, so I'm trusting he's right. At least I'm hoping he's right because I'm going to start taking it myself, and put my family on it. It is even great for pets. Well, it's hard to get down cats, but they say dog's don't mind if it's in warm milk. Yuck

He (and many others on the DMSO list) says that once it starts working in the body (it also crosses the blood brain barrier so it is great for strokes--will stop a stroke and nullify stroke effects, but can even be given long after a stroke has occured) you can usually get down to only taking it once or twice a week. To start out with he took it every day, but now only once a week. On Friday nights so as not to offend any of his customers. Lol

Hey Diana. I don't see why not. First DMSO and MSM are kissin' cousins :-) plus the DMSO will take anything with it deeper into the system externally so I don't see why it won't internally do the same thing. As a matter of fact I'm planning on doing the same type of mix in my drink, and for my dogs!!
