Guest guest
Dear group My mom has been using a number of supplements since December and has started with OPC two months ago. She has Non-Hodgkings lymphoma. She is also still taking chlorambucil (not sure about the spelling) every 14 days (i cannot convice her not to take the chemo). She has been doing and looking very well. She does not have medical aid so she is dependant on our Public Health system which is in a very sad state (we live in South Africa). The biggest problem is that she sees a different dr every month when she goes for her checkup and it seems they are not qualified oncologists yet. At her last visit they asked her to go for a CT scan and because they now for the first time in history have a PET scan she is also scheduled to go for the PET scan. My question is to anybody who can advise me is " what is the difference between a PET and CT scan and is it really necessary to be exposed to both (radiation). She did go for the CT scan today but has to wait 3 weeks to get the results. SHe is also scheduled to go for the PET scan on 29 August. I would also like to mention that i noticed that the OPC does assist with the side effects of the chemo. Previously i used to get her whey protein for that purpose, but she did not need it this past two weeks. Regards Martie

I had (remission)breast cancer and I have refused all the scans that they continue to want you to do. I pray that you can convince your Mother not to continue chemo and radation, I wish I had not have gotten it myself, it does so much damage to everything else in, on and around your body. They cut out my tumor and did a 2in margin all around it, so I don't know why I let them do the chemo and radation. I think you get scared and afraid you are going to die, so you let them convince you that it will save you and that is NOT TRUE!! Hope that helps answer your question Martie. I have a question now!! My sister is looking for a vitamin, mineral supplement she only wants to do the one a day thing. Does anyone know of a good one that they would recommed. Thanks, Violet
