Guest guest
No teflon............ It's done. It was cooked down to maybe 40% when I removed the plant material and looked like lovely broth. But, I was working at following the recipe so I went ahead and reduced what was there by another 50% before filtering. Used way more coffee filters than the recipe 'cause they clogged. I just kept filtering until I could get the liquid thru', then filtered 4 more times. Ended up with 2 cups of soup to which I added an equal amount of vodka. Now to go fertilize my shorn plant. Thanks for the reinforcement. Saralou May wrote: Bless your heart Saralou. Yep, It sure does stink. LOL! Yes, add more water when you can, and remember to strain it well. As for a Teflon pan, cooking anything in those pans is bad for you. I am glad you're not using it. Keep us posted as to your progress in making the soup. Guest guest
Congrats on your first batch. Sounds like you ended up with something a bit stronger than normal. Remember, the instructions are to end up with 30% of the original volume and then mix 50/50 with vodka or apple cider vinegar. From your description, you ended up with more like 20%. No problem - your doses will just be a bit more potent and you may wish to adjust them downwards by about a third. oleander soup , Saralou <RoseOttoGroups wrote: > > No teflon............ > > It's done. > > It was cooked down to maybe 40% when I removed the plant material and > looked like lovely broth.
