Hi Group,

Sorry I meant to post this link for more info on aspartic acid... actually it is 40% of aspartame, but still neurotoxic and should be avoided at all costs.

Re: Where can you buy ingrediance for Oleander soup?

Hi Ann,Welcome to the group! Here are the links with instructions on how to make the soup. Please keep in mind the instructions must be followed to the letter and you must be sure that the plant you are using has not been sprayed with commercial pesticides.

The Recipe for Oleander Soup Part 1

The Recipe for Oleander Soup Part 2 - Tips and AdviceLook for the oleander plant at an organic nursery. If you have none in your vicinity, some can be found online.Hugs, oleander soup , Ann-Kristin Rosenberg <rosenbergannkristin wrote:>> Hi,> I am a new member interested in learning how to make this soup. I'd like to cook it and strain it. Since I have very limited time on the computer I am just throwing it out there in hope of getting a 'speedy' answer. > Where can you buy the bush? Hey, Bob,

I'm no expert, so stop reading now if you like, but, I don't believe everything out of Mercola's mouth. He thinks you should only eat egg whites; only drink water if you feel thirst; sells his supplements for high prices. Much of what he says, is correct, of course. But, I am somewhat leery of him. Also, I don't use the regular Emergen c because of the sugar. The MSM version is much healthier and I also use their electrolyte version.

I really don't think the amino acid aspartic acid is a problem. It is a neurotransmitter, not toxin.

But, I would like to hear more if anyone knows for sure.

Thanks.Nonie

Nonie,

I must disagree with you on the toxicity aspect of free from aspartic acid. Yes it is a non essential amino acid, but when not bound to food it is toxic. Read the following from The Ecologist.

Aspartic acid is only "toxic" in very large amounts. The amount of aspartic acid in Emergen-C pales in comparison to what is gotten from proteinaceous foods. We have huge amounts of unbound aspartic acid in our bodies at all times. It is a metabolite of the urea cyle. Unbound aspartate is also a player in gluconeogenesis.Aspartate might have a neuroexcitatory effect if taken in large doses, so I would not take a tablespoon of it every day. I do use Emergen-C fairly frequently. That amount of aspartate is a "drop in the bucket" physiologically and is quite safe.Mikebbanever <bbaneveroleander soup Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2008 9:52:04 PMRe: OT - More on aspartic acid.Nonie, I must disagree with you on the toxicity aspect of free from aspartic acid.
