Let's get logical here and think outside the box.

 

Do you know that batteries in vehicles get acidic around the posts.... do you know what happens when you put baking soda on those areas?

 

Disintegrates immediately.

The real question is whether the baking soda will ever reach the battery terminals if you put it into the fuel tank.
