Tony,

Thank you for your prompt and useful response, which was exactly what

I was looking for -- and what I expected. For some reason, others out

there are choose not to present what they have to say in the public

forum. I decided to post one such interchange (below), if the

moderator consents to do so.

I appreciate the sound advice given. At the same time, I am concerned

that many of you may have missed the point of my posting. I was not in

any way suggesting that any of the alternative methods I have tried

thus far are not working. In particular, I believe that Protocel

achieved much against great odds.

It took two years for me to get back to the starting point in my

treatment program because of a wrong-headed decision at the outset to

go with one of the options presented in mainstream medicine. After two

years and four months, the PSA doubling time remains essentially the

same. That is not failure, at least in my opinion. It is also not the

success I am seeking.

I posted my results for all to see because there are some out there

who know a lot more than I do about how to interpret these numbers

properly. I will post a more complete picture as soon as the rest of

the lab results are in hand.

I personally count this as an opportunity to see whether or not

oleander does what Tony claims it does IN A SPECIFIC CONTROLLED

SITUATION TAKING PLACE IN THE CONTEXT OF A MAJOR CANCER CENTER. I am

fortunate that I found an oncologist who is not afraid of high PSA

numbers and determined to " normalize " them with hormone therapy. It is

easy to get one's PSA down into the so-called " normal " range, as I

found out after taking that first injection of Zoladex in the office

of my oncologist the very day he gave me the bad news of my biopsy

report. That biopsy was done at my request, not his. Unfortunately, I

knew virtually nothing at that point about the field of alternative

medicine.

Here's an opportunity for the rest of you to play the role of

consultant and help me design an experiment that shows whether or not

oleander works in terms of reversing prostate cancer. I hope it does,

but if it proves to be ineffective, there are still a growing number

of options out there -- all of them better than the two options my

oncologist presented me on June 29, 2006: surgery or radiation.

Hi Blake,

I think you missed the point of my posting. I have no reason to

believe that any of the things I have tried thus far have failed. I

shared a personal journey because I want to discuss the issues with

others and see if we can get some hard facts on the table to look at.

I have not yet won the battle against prostate cancer because I made a

wrong headed decision at the outset to go with mainstream medicine. I

consequently spent many months getting back to the starting point. I

do not count this is failure in any sense of that word. I remain

convinced that there are dozens of therapies out there that work. I am

trying to find the ones that work best for me.

This is an opportunity for Tony and others in that group to get

involved in a specific well-controlled situation taking place within

the context of a major cancer center to show whether or not oleander

does what he claims it does.

Note: I personally believe that crinum is no better option than PCSpes

and its sister products in treating prostate cancer. As the late Dr.

John R. Lee put it in 2003: " Some people even think that PSA elevation

is bad and should be reduced. An example is the company that produced

a drug called PCSpes, which inhibits PSA production and causes breast

development. In the past, I have challenged that company to produce

evidence that using the drug will lower the morality or extend the

survival of men using the drug. No such evidence exists, to my

knowledge. This is an example of blaming the messenger rather than

understanding the message. " HORMONE BALANCE FOR MEN (2003), p. 20.

I am not interested in lowering my PSA as such but rather in getting

rid of PCa (prostate cancer). Let's see if oleander does what so many

of you say it does.

Chinese medicine and the inroads its made as a modern approach to

healing. But weve never focused on traditional Vietnamese medicine...

until now.

>

> We recently learned about one of its most valuable herbs called

crinum latifolium. Apparently, its so revered in Vietnam that it used

to be reserved only for royalty and was known both as the Medicine for

the Kings Palace and the Royal Female Herb.

>

> Those traditional references actually highlight one of crinums most

unique aspects its ability to help both sexes by targeting prostate

and ovarian problems. Crinum is so established and widely used as a

treatment for prostate and ovary diseases in Vietnam that their crops

of the herb are generally prohibited from being exported.

>

> Thats why were delighted to introduce Healthy Prostate & Ovary one

of the first crinum products we know of thats recently become

available in the UK. As well as crinum it also contains five other

herbs alisima plantagoquatica, astragalus, momordica charantia, carica

papaya leaf, and annona muricata leaf all known for their immune- and

energy-boosting effects.

>

> *Promising results in the fight against prostate cancer*

> Although most of the research on crinum focuses on men, it all

started when the Hoang family studied its effect on ovarian health.

Dr. Kha Hoang was the Chief Teacher and medical doctor for the

Vietnamese royal family. In 1984 his daughter had so many cysts on one

of her ovaries that surgery was planned to remove it. Dr. Hoang gave

her a tea made with crinum leaves to drink, and about six weeks later

the cysts were gone.

>

> Today, three generations of the Hoang family are integrated medicine

practitioners. The family has used crinum together with other

supportive herbs in treating a variety of prostate and ovarian

conditions. Biopsies confirmed 16 cases of advanced prostate cancer

were completely cured regardless of prostate specific antigen (PSA)

levels. In fact, sometimes PSA levels go up in men taking crinum, even

though testing shows that their prostate cells are normal and healthy.

>

> That is exactly what happened to Ken Malik, the co-founder and

Executive Director of the Prostate Awareness Foundation, a non-profit

organisation based in San Francisco in the US. In his own battle with

prostate cancer, Malik chose to take the natural approach opting for a

therapeutic regimen of nutrition and exercise. He also used the herbal

supplement PC Spes for eight years and found doing so stabilised his

condition.

>

> PC Spes was a herbal formula that showed remarkable results in

treating prostate problems. Recently though, it was pulled from the

market after researchers discovered that some PC Spes products

claiming to be all-natural actually contained synthetic, potentially

harmful substances. Malik began his search for a replacement, which

led him to crinum.

>

> *92.6% success rate when it comes to reducing BPH symptoms

> *Malik started taking crinum in January 2002 and, over the course of

the next 10 months, his PSA actually increased. Most of the time, this

would be cause for concern. But Maliks most recent biopsy showed only

healthy tissue. His experience might add some support to recent

reports that claim the PSA test might not be the best indicator of

prostate cancer risk. Malik was excited enough about his own

experience to organise a small informal trial with 10 members of the

Prostate Awareness Foundation.

>

> Participants were told to take nine crinum tablets each day for

three months. All 10 noted some kind of functional improvement. Not

everyone experiences elevated PSA levels using crinum. Sometimes its

benefits follow a more predictable path, like the testimonial from a

58-year-old man who had a PSA of 93 when he went to his urologist for

treatment.

>

> Hed waited so long that his cancer had spread to his bones,

intestines, and lymph nodes. He was placed on an aggressive herbal

programme that included crinum. After just four months, his PSA was

down to 0.9 and the symptoms hed been experiencing difficulty

urinating, swelling in his legs, and extreme fatigue had all disappeared.

>

> Crinum can also help alleviate the symptoms of benign prostatic

hyperplasia (BPH) an enlarged prostate. The main symptom of BPH is

frequent and sometimes painful urination. There are over 500

individual case histories of successful crinum treatment for BPH. And

after seven years of research, the International Hospital in Vietnam

reported that 92.6 per cent of patients had good results using crinum

for BPH (confirmed by measurements of prostate size and clinical

evaluation by urologists).1

>

> *Crinum may help reverse PCOS symptoms like low libido*

> Clinical research on women taking crinum is much more sparse, but

HSI did talk to Dr. Tom Dorman who has seen promising results after

prescribing crinum for his female patients suffering from specific

disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

>

> He recounted one case history of a woman who came to his office

looking for help with her PCOS symptoms, which included irregular

periods, decreased sex drive, weight loss, and excessive facial hair

growth stimulated by an increase in male hormones.

>

> After two months of taking crinum, her menstruation and weight

normalised, her facial hair diminished, and her sex drive returned.

This account is even more remarkable when you consider that crinum was

the only treatment she was using. Although this one case cant confirm

that crinum is responsible for the health benefits, it does suggest

that it may provide an option for women.

>

> *Boosts immunity by encouraging your cells to communicate*

> Researchers believe crinum works at the simplest level your cells.

The human body contains about 70 trillion cells, which each maintain

their own existence and make vital contributions to your health. But

in order for your body to function properly, all of those cells must

communicate.

>

> For instance, your muscles must contract only when your brain sends

a message to contract and not at any other time. Cells also

communicate with one another to determine the correct balance of cell

proliferation and apoptosis, or death. Basically, theyre constantly

working together to regulate how many cells you have and how healthy

they are at any given moment.

>

> But if your cells arent communicating properly, apoptosis may not

happen the way it should, which means that unhealthy, even cancerous,

cells can continue to thrive and mutate. Recent experiments show that

crinum extract helps cells produce a substance called neopterin, which

they send out to communicate with immune cells, calling them into

action against cancer and other foreign invaders.2

tablets taken three times a day. If youre battling cancer or any other

serious illness, it is important that you consult your doctor before

using this product.

*Tetrathiomolybdate*

> *Not DCA, but well worth knowing about*

> Tetrathiomolybdate, or TM, is an incredibly effective copper

chelating material. We first learned of it when searching for a

treatment for close family friend. Paul was diagnosed with malignant

pleural mesothelioma (asbestos cancer) and given about 9 months to

live. Doctors said they could do little to help him.

> We focused on stopping vascularization of the tumor, known as

antiangiogenesis. Green tea extract is an example. Paul started all

these things but nothing worked and the tumor kept growing. We then

discovered the work done by Doctor George Brewer of the University of

Michigan. Dr. Brewer found that tetrathiomolydate, a compound that

binds up copper easily with essentially no side effects, worked

remarkably well in stopping vascularization of tumors.

> Previous to starting TM, we suggested that Paul get his serum zinc

and copper levels determined. Normally these levels are about equal.

But many studies have shown that in aggressive tumors the ratio of

copper to zinc is 5 to 1. And that was what Paul's ratio was! By

taking zinc supplements and TM, he changed his copper to zinc ratio to

1 to 5. The tumor stopped growing, and has not grown since. Paul lives

a normal life, taking his zinc and TM, with no side effects. He is

living with cancer and has now for nearly three years.

> TM must be made by a 'compounding pharmacist'. TM is also not

patentable, so no large company is pursuing it. I highly recommend you

research TM.

Wisconsin. Please feel free to contact this site with the names and

contacts for other pharmacists, anywhere in the world, who can help

provide TM.

>

> Paul takes four 20 mg tablets of TM daily, 2 in the morning and two

at night, for a total of 80 mg/day.

> He takes 200 mg of zinc daily. (And DCA and tributyrin now. July 2007 )

> Paul Update, November 14, 2007. Still doing well. Paul still on TM,

zinc and TB. He takes DCA more rarely now. Cancer appears stable..But

Paul was having some periodic issues with weakness in his legs. Ilene

and I did some research and learned that zinc supplementation lowers

magnesium and potassium levels. I have a quick summary of this

information on this (click here
