Giving IP6

I'll be starting my dog Gemma on IP6 this week. I know it should be given on an

empty stomach, but can it be given with a small amount of food, just to get it

down? If so, is meat OK, or should it be something easily digestible like

pureed vegetables? Since someone mentioned using a high dose for a month or

so---is 1600mg enough for a small 25-30 lb. dog? It'll be split into two doses.

Thanks!-------------Nancy and Gemma (now what

is she giving me!)

IP6 will latch on to any iron, calcium, magnesium, etc in the food. I

don't know if this inactivates the IP6, but it may very well inactivate

it, making it useless.

Hey, I just had an idea -- mix it with water and see if you can get the

dog to drink the solution. Add straight inositol too, if the IP6

doesn't have regular inositol mixed with it.

I'll give it a shot. I did buy Cell Forte IP6 w/Inositol. Never thought my dog

was picky but she won't eat cottage cheese and flaxseed oil anymore so I dunno

what'll happen with these pills. Would applesauce be safe? It has sugar, but

probably not much of the other chelate-able stuff in a tiny spoonful. Or cashew

nut butter? I'd hate to go through the effort and expen$e of all this only to

have the IP6 not work because I did it

wrong.-------------------------------Nancy and
