Guest guest
Chocolate margaritas? Well, there goes my apetitite - lol. Then again, who knows . . . If you spent time in Concan did you perchance go to Neal's Cafe at Neal's Lodges and Campgrounds? The owner, Mary Tom is a beautiful elderly lady who is quite the anti-mainstream patriot and alternative medicine fan at about 85 plus years young. We visit her now and then when we dine at Neal's and eat on the balcony overlooking the Frio. oleander soup , " Dr. Loretta Lanphier " <drlanphier wrote: > > Yeah, he does add Himalayan salt, I forgot about that. Guest guest
Sorry. It's a chocolate MARTINI. That sounds better doesn’t it? J See, I am not one bit the mixed drink or wine connaisseur. LOL Although I did see a recipe for a chocolate margarita on the Internet that looks interesting. (Per serving) 1 1/2 ounces Tequila, 1 ounce Godiva liquor, 3/4 ounce cream or half & half, 1 tlbs Hershey’s syrup; 2 ounces orange juice, ice We were part of the International Wellness Conference in Galveston several years back. Part of the package for speakers/companies was tickets to a wine-tasting social. My friends are quite the wine connaisseurs and I know nothing other than the different colors of wine. By the time we left they had tasted at least 15 wines or more and would encourage me to take a “sip” of what they were tasting as I still had a half full glass, from the beginning of the tasting line, I was working on. Honestly, I could not tell much difference other than sweetness and they were just oohing and aahing over this wine and that wine. When we left I still had ¼ of my glass left and ended up throwing it in the trash. I think I am very sensitve to the yeast in wine because that is about all I taste, thus I can do without it. I had much rather have a good Raspberry iced tea. Never been to Neal's Café, I don’t think. Does she serve healthy food? Our highschool trips to Concan were about socializing, swimming and swimming and did I mention swimming? ;o) Be Well Loretta -----Original Message----- Chocolate margaritas? Guest guest
A chocolate MARTINI? You are just making it worse! UG! I;m not a wine snob, but I did graduate beyond Sangria and Gallo Spanada (not to mention Mad Dog 20, Ripple and Thunderbird). I prefer red wines. Fat Bastard and Corvo are a couple of good reds that don't cost an arm and a leg. I think you will find this article about Mary Tom and Concan interesting. Their family had the first popular swimming hole (called The Shut-In) on the Frio River. http://www.concancabins.com/history.htm Oh, did you ask about healthy food? Of course! I mean, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, meatloaf and roast beef ARE healthfoods, right? And the cherry cobbler and banana pudding are yummy! oleander soup , " Dr. Loretta Lanphier " <drlanphier wrote: > > Sorry. It's a chocolate MARTINI. Guest guest
Well, I don't drink but I do have to throw my 2 bits in on this. My friend, who does enjoy sweet drinks, and I went to a restaurant here in town. She ordered me a chocolate martini. She had told the bar tender that I didn't drink (cause I don't like the taste of alcohol) but that I loved chocolate, so he put a double shot of chocolate in the martini. And I do have to say--it was delicious! Lol That drink could almost make me start having daily martinis. Samala, Renee ---- Sorry. It's a chocolate MARTINI. That sounds better doesn’t it?
