Always! So many have just disappeared off the radar never to be heard of again. Hope this isn't one of them. We live in hope!

Wish there was more general education on prevention though, but I suppose there are too many poisons that are called "food" now on the market, for that to ever happen. It's amazing that organic food sells at a premium, yet the true cost of buying junk is our health. Suddenly pure food compares well.

Then there are the environmental poisons allowed in our water, soil & atmosphere. It's a hard row to hoe.

Every year we seem to get no end of "breakthroughs" announced, and yet the end result is that, despite playing fast and loose with statistics, cancer diagnosis continue to rise and so do cancer deaths.Mainstream western medicine is all about profits and healing is a secondary consideration - in fact, when you really look at it, actual healing is suppressed because it is not profitable. In half a century we have gone from vinyl records to tiny MP3 and MP4 players, black and white TVs with three stations to wall sized plasma screens and hundreds of channels, Aunt Bee party line phones to credit card sized cell phones, computers the size of a house to tiny laptops with far more power, propeller planes to space shuttles, and, despite having the most advanced technology and science man has ever known, we have not progressed past the medical dark ages of trying to cut out, burn out or poison out the mere symptoms of cancer without addressing the actual causes or educating and giving emphasis about prevention.Don't hold your breath!Here is the beginning of the story:Molecule breakthrough could lead to anti-cancer drug

A microscopic cellular assassin, capable of making cancerous kidney

cells eat themselves to death, could eventually become a cancer-curing

drug, thanks to Auckland University research.The small molecule,

dubbed STF-62247, was discovered by Stanford University researchers,

with their findings published in Cancer Cell this month.But the

Auckland research, in collaboration with Stanford University and funded

by the United States' National Cancer Institute, is taking the molecule

and replicating it into related molecules suited for human drug

development.These new molecules will have increased strike-power, increased water solubility and cause less damage to healthy cells.The

molecule selectively destroys kidney cells by inducing them to

"recycle", Auckland University senior research fellow Dr Michael Hay

said yesterday.When cells are depleted of resources or under

stress, they naturally recycle bits of nutrients from inside the cell -

a process called autophagy. It is normally a survival mechanism for the

cells, allowing them to scramble to survive on limited nutrients when

times get tough.It looks to me like they are saying they are trying to figure out how to make a less harmful, but still harmful, chemo which induces autophagy. Exactly! My first thought was that it is patentable & will cost a fortune if they produce the goods.

I used to donate to cancer research. Never again! My family members still die of it! My first memory is of a dying aunt - I was 18 mths old. My mother didn't believe me when I mentioned it years later, but I was able to tell her that my aunt was fed with a jug and could tell her where in my grandfather's house, my aunt's room was. The jug turned out to be an invalid's cup! That was in 1956 and nothing has changed. She was 21. Her eldest sister died 4 years ago of pancreatic cancer. He younger sister died of cancer also. One sister and one brother still alive. The sister smokes her own home-grown organic tobacco! No superphosphate. She had polio after being vaccinated! Also eats an incredibly healthy diet. My mother smoked for 30 years, no cancer, but lousy diet. She stopped 20 years ago but had 3 heart attacks in 36 hours 6 months ago. She chose not to be resuscitated. 3 of the 4 non-smokers are gone.

Always interesting to read about the mainstream "progress" - I live in hope that one day they will get it right.
