Guest guest
Recently, maybe even on this list - can't recall for sure - we had a thread on proteins and if I remember correctly the conclusion was that it's a myth that we need meat for protein. That all protein enters our body as amino acids and then converts to protein. And so - since veggies contain plenty of amino acids, we can get more than enough protein even when we never eat meat. Thoughts? Angel Re: Answers for Robyn Posted by: "Tammatha" tammatha tammr1ch Sat Jul 19, 2008 8:39 pm (PDT) I 've never known of a malnourished vegan (if done properly). Just like any diet one needs knowledge of what to eat. Meat is not healthy for the human body, we are not designed to digest it, our intestines are not short like the dog & cat, therefore it putrifies. Also, we are not given the canine/feline mouth to rip tear/rip meat. Nor does it help with malnutrition. A very important facinating book to read, a ten year research study done by a father (PhD & son team) "The China Study" a must read on what we really need to be eating and all we need to be eating for complete health. It sums it up perfectly.Tammatha
Guest guest
Yes, Angel this is true. It is a myth that we need protein from animal sources. Also, it is exagerated that we need alot of protein. Guest guest
Angel, Forgot to add...like I had mentioned before. The book "The China Study" is a facinating read. It will explain what our bodies need to be completely healthy.
