Are you taking it in liquid form? If so, see what happens if you put

some of the solution on your inner arm. If it causes any bumps or

redness, you may be allergic to the family of plants that includes

oleander, vinca and many others.

If you are taking it in capsule form and the itching and rash

continues, try discontinuing the oleander and see if the condition

persists. If it does, you may be allergic. You may wish to try a

much smaller dosage and work your way up and see if your body becomes

acclimated. If not, you are likely not a good candidate for using

oleander.

One other consideration: if you made your own oleander extract, when

you touch the liquid to your lips, does it cause a tingling or numbing

sensation? If so, that is a likely sign of chemical contamination -

most likely a pesticide, and the most common pesticide would be

malathion. If THAT is the case, throw out your oleander and find a

better source that is pesticide free.
