Guest guest
Thank you for that article Mary! It's great and its strange it mentions bone loss from taking nexium, prevacid etc. not to mention dementia. The dr's. write prescriptions for these pills in high doses. I was taking nexium in my thirties! I have never been overweight by much ever and always was an exercise buff but I do eat chocolate and that means sugar! I will def. cut back on the sugar intake as it states it is a huge cause of the inbalance in the body. I stopped taking nexium close to three years ago because I switched to taking Bragg's acv when I get this. I have copied this and will use it as a backup daily! Thank you so much for this eye opener, have never seen info. like this before anywhere. Hugs, Bonnie & Cody Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Guest guest
All these medications, including antacids are extremely harmful. Myself, I was on Prevacid years ago and when that got to be too expensive switched to Prilosec. At the end, even with these medications I found to be under severe distress. These medications reduce the acid in your stomach. Acid that you really do need. Acid reflux is caused by food fermenting in your stomach and nobody is aware of this. The only way to healing is diet. I, too, take Bragg's combined with raw honey on a daily basis. Well, not lately, ahem. Need to start again. Papaya Enzymes are wonderful for acid reflux. Keep these on hand and Bromelain seems to have helped me too. From a chronic acid reflux sufferer, I am now acid reflux free. Guest guest
A drug such as Nexium is only of benefit for the first 4 to 12 weeks. Its benefit lies in reducing the acid just long enough to cause the ulceration and scarring in the esophagus and cardiac sphincter to heal. The downside of this drug and others that diminish or neutralize stomach acid is the lack of digestion that will occur; and the lack of nutrients in the body will eventually spell trouble for all bodily systems. For acid reflux, excessive belching, and bloating and cramping, the remedy is digestive enzymes. These are mainly the proteolytic enzymes such as pancreatin, bromelain, papain, etc., but also the carbohydrate and fat digestion enzymes. If your stomach still feels full 4 hours after eating, take 4 to 8 digestive enzyme pills. The pressure, pain, or other discomfort should go away in 30 to 60 minutes; and the stomach empties its contents into the small intestine at that time.Dr. Goebel--- On Wed, 7/9/08, May <luellamay129 wrote: May <luellamay129 Re: Acid Reflux/Maryoleander soup Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 8:53 AM All these medications, including antacids are extremely harmful. Guest guest
I was suffering from acid reflux too. MD gave me aciphex, or nexium or zantac, but i hardly took any of them. I went to the alternative pharmacy - People's pharmacy and they gave me Acidil. It is really good and made of natural ingredients: Abies nigra 4C PHUS for stomach pain after eating; carbo vegetables 4CHPUS relieves stomach bloating with gas; Nux vomica 4CHPUS relieves heartburn due to excessive eating or drinking; robina pseudoacacia 4CHPUS relieves heartburn with acid indigestion. Other ingredients listed are: lactose, coscarmellose sodium, and magnesium stearate. The lactose in it did not bother me at all. I suffered tummy ache everytime I ate. Taking ACIDIL with Papaya tea from papaya dried leaves with ginger and turmeric has kicked out my hyperacidity. Can now drink chocolate. Choco used to give me great tummy ache. It took one week to heal. Melly
