Guest guest
This senator from Illinois was a slick railroad lawyer who used to ride around with railroad magnates in their special railroad cars. He was a follower of Alexander Hamilton and Henry Clay and a reader of Carl Marx. He got into Congress though a split vote in the new Repubican party when a much better candidate, a real statesmen, a Democrat, Breckenridge didn't get in. Old Abe secreted an expeditionary force to Ft. Sumter to get the war started. In the " battle " no one was killed. After the " battle " was over a ceremonial cannon shot celebrating the " victory " exploded killing one soldier. The newspapers headlined " great loss of life " and the war was on. Old Abe changed our government from what it was, a confederacy of states operating in liberty, to a national government centralized in Washington, D.C. and operating under the dictates of the president. Congress was dissolved sine die and is now essentially a corporate Congress. The people who orchestrated this were the international bankers and Old Abe was their useful idiot. Old Abe reneged when they charged him a ridiculous amount of interest to finance the war and this led to his demise at Ford's Theater when he issued Lincoln greenbacks, which was interest-free money (cutting out the international bankers). A lot of things that Lincoln said in his speeches were actually not said by him at all. The Emancipation Proclamation was only a political ploy to mess up the South's economy. Lincoln didn't give a rap about the slaves and actually wanted to ship them back to Africa, but was dissuaded when one of his generals told him that the USA didn't have enough ships to do that. Lincoln actually wrecked the greatest country ever conceived through his war. More people perished in the civil war than any other war before and since in the USA. The Union generals (some of them Communist '48ers from Europe ripped through the South, some with intent to kill civilians rather than pure military people. If there is any doubt about this read the following books of that era, " Crimes of the Civil War and the Curse of the Funding System " by Henry Clay Dean and also " A Girl's Life in Virginia Before the War " by Lutitia Burrell. Also later books detailing this are " Gangs of America " by Ted Nace, " Blood Money--The Civil War and the Federal Reserve " by Graham, also read " The Real Lincoln " by Thomas DiLorenzo and also " Red Republicans " by Kennedy. Actually, Lincoln didn't keep the Republic together, he ripped it apart and it's never recovered. oleander soup , ahzoov wrote: > > I heard about this senator from Illinois who lacked the experience needed to > be president.
