3 cheers! I've found an oleander shrub away from the main road!!! The owner is a friend of a friend so I am arranging a vist rather than turn up on her doorstep begging - although I would do that if necessay, and give her a copy of a relevant book!

It's winter now so should I establish cuttings indoors? I don't use hormones other than soaking cuttings in willow water until roots appear. We don't get snow this far north, but a cold Antarctic blast has just brought some hailstorms. Once it's established, when is the best time to harvest? When I harvest herbs I usually do it just before full moon when the sap is running. Would this apply to oleander? For cuttings, I usually do it as the moon begins waxing as the sap begins to rise as I think that they will be sucking up the willow water.

Very happily,

How wonderful! Actually, she does not know what a gold mine she has.

Tony always says that whenever he sees an oleander bush on someone's

property he has the impulse to go tell them that they have the cure for

cancer growing in their yard.

Yes, during the winter time, it is best to keep the plant indoors as it

is a tropical plant. However, you say it is growing where you are in

the winter time? Where abouts do you live? Anyway, I am so sorry you

have come across this wonderful find!

Believe me, I will tell her what a treasure she has!!!

When my children were small, in ignorance, I dug one out and got rid of it.

Our climate is temperate/subtropical, but you wouldn't know it at the moment. We are at

32º 56’ S in New Zealand and the temp is 13°C at 1512hrs.

We had thunder and hail during the night.. First time my grandson has seen it. He was entranced with the hailstones sliding down the windows. He wriggled in my arms wanting to go outside, so we wrapped up and stood huddling on the back steps together, watching the storm.

Oleanders grow all year round here and are often used along road sides. I don't want to use those ones though, as despite the clean, green image, the local city council sprays the berms and even playgrounds, with Escort. Then there is the roadside pollution.

Hi,

I'm a new member of a couple of weeks. I have been taking MMS for about

the same time. The problem with MMS is the lack of a track record and

any formal type of testing. I took my son's suggestion on face value

for trying it.

But it is Oleander that I am interested in. I will be placing an order,

but wanted to let you know I have 18 bushes on the property that have

been doing well for years (my neighbor has them too) with winter

temperatures in the mid teens and up to 8 inches of snow. I do get out

when the snow collects and knock the snow off.

Just to let you know it is a hardy bush.

The best.

Thanks so much for that Cecil. It certainly thrives here too.

I'm quite new too - just a couple of months.
