Guest guest
First of all, the " soup " is based on the original patent for Anvirzel - the oleander medicine that Doctor H. Z. Ozel had used and perfected for almost 40 years at the time of the patent. Secondly, the major ingredient in the " soup " is the cardiac glycoside oleandrin (and there are a handful of other cardiac glycosides as well). Oleandrin cross assays with digooxin/digitalis. Though the amount in an individual dose is comparitively small, there IS ulimately a threshold where it could become dangerous. The strength of the home made version can vary widely. One tablespoon is well within safe limits. I would personally not recommend that anyon double it though. On the other hand, Marc has worked carefully with his OPC for several years now and he recommends doubling the dose for late stage and aggressive cancers - so if I wanted to go stronger, that is what I would do (use OPC or perhaps add a bit less than a full dose of OPC to to a bit less than a full dose of " soup " ). Why anyone would want to NOT preserve the homemade " soup " with vodka or apple cider vinegar is beyond me! It is an organio extract and it WILL spoil unless preserved. I would not even guess at the shelf life of unpreserved " soup " - to do so is asking for trouble. oleander soup , " Gaiacita " <gaiacita wrote: > > Not arguing, but wondering why not? Guest guest
Thanks Tony. This answer my questions as to why not use larger doses. Makes sense. I did not understand the constituents in the soup, that could be over dosed on. As I said about preserving it--I wanted to give it plain to my old dog. But, I can use the vinegar. I had thought when I first joined that someone said unpreserved was good for 6 months or more, so I thought I could give him this batch that way. As I just made a small batch yesterday, for him, I was going to use it unpreserved. But now that I know it does not keep, that I must have been dreaming about that 6 month thing, I will add vinegar to it. I don't want to give him alcohol is all. He can have the vinegar though.
